WHAT IS CFT?

Craniosacral fascial therapy (CFT) is a hands on gentle therapy that focuses on unwinding the fascia of the body and improving cerebrospinal fluid flow.

WHAT IS THE TREATMENT LIKE?

I softly feel for fascial restrictions/tension and help release with gentle touches. Each session is unique and individualized. Some sessions may include work inside the mouth, some movement and/or stretching. Sessions can be in increments of 15 minutes ($50 per 15 minutes) and are most effective when following an adjustment.

WHY WOULD I NEED THIS?

Fascial tension/restrictions begin at birth and interfere with healthy cerebrospinal fluid flow. Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) flow is vital for many reasons: it is the clear liquid that cushions the brain and spinal cord, providing buoyancy and protection for them as the body moves. It also provides the brain and spinal cord with nutrients and clears away waste. Fascia becomes restricted in many ways, mainly from trauma including but not limited to: difficult birth, surgery, accidents, falls, concussions, dental work/orthodontics, and emotional trauma.

WHAT IS FASCIA?

Fascia is the body’s connective tissue, an all-encompassing web found throughout the body that protects the entire body and provides the framework that helps support the whole body as one unit

WHO DOES IT HELP?

CFT can be incredibly helpful for symptoms including: snoring, mouth breathing, TMJ, headaches, head & neck tension, misshaped skulls, concussions, TBIs, tongue/lip ties, trouble breastfeeding, torticollis, and reflux, among others.

Starting from birth, traumas and toxins accumulate and create strain and toxicity in the craniosacral fascial system, restricting critical brain motion. Damage to the craniosacral fascial system can affect the flow of cerebrospinal fluid which helps nourish and detoxify the body and brain. It can also limit range of motion, and cause a host of other ailments.

The intricate craniosacral fascial system originates around the brain and spinal cord, and extends through the fascial web throughout the body, connecting every structural cell. The craniosacral fascial system consists of a slight motion of the brain and spinal cord, pumping cerebrospinal fluid into the fascial system. With CFT, we help improve the flow of cerebrospinal fluid from the brain, down the spine, to the sacrum, and throughout the fascia.
